Rules
We do not host the sites and cannot remove them: a name belongs to the holder of its key on the blockchain. We only decide what the search shows and what our DoH resolver resolves.
Removed for good blocked
- Drugs of any kind: shops, dead drops, sales forums. Removed from the results, and our resolver answers “no such domain” for these names. We do not publish the list of these domains.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): removed and reported to NCMEC, as US law requires (18 U.S.C. § 2258A).
- Phishing, malware, fraud: removed from the results.
Hidden by default
Legal adult sites are in the results, but appear only after the “I am 18+” switch.
Kept until a complaint on request
Mirrors of torrent trackers and libraries stay in the results. We remove them on a complaint from the rights holder: give the name, a link to the material and proof of your rights.
Dead sites
A site that stops answering stays in the results for 30 days marked “down since …”, then leaves. When it answers again, it comes back at the next crawl.
How we decide
Stop words, a language model reading every home page, and a hand-kept list of exceptions. Mistakes happen: if a site was removed by mistake, write to us.
